German film "The Simple Complexities of Nico Fischer" / Oh Boy, 2012, directed by Jan Ole Gerster (this is his debut). I decided to watch because of the actor Tom Schilling, who at one time I liked in the film von Donnersmarck “Work without authorship”. Like the recent movie The Worst Man in the World, there was a self-seeking girl, this one dedicated to a young man without a particular occupation, who dropped out of the university that his father paid him, spent the money intended for this, did not work, trying to sort himself out. We see one day of his life, during which he manages to break off relations with his girlfriend, lose his driver's license, meet with his friend, accidentally meet with a former classmate who was once in love with him, and get tickets from her for himself and his friend for a rather idiotic performance, after which he will not get along with this girl, meet with his father who will refuse him further financial support until he takes up his mind, communicate with a strange neighbor, and in the end he will have a chance meeting with an old man who tells him about his life in this city during Hitler's time. The guy himself seems to be good, but completely disposed to anything serious, first of all, he does not even think of finding a job, he is looking for himself, but there are reasonable doubts about what he will ever find. In principle, the film is not bad, shot in black and white, so as not to be distracted, touches, as it were, in passing and serious topics, maybe someone like a hero will think? Someone saw in the film parallels with the film Jarmusch “Coffee and Cigarettes”, which are here almost constantly in the frame, on this score I will say nothing, did not look. The main character manages to drink coffee only in the final, after a tragic event, maybe this is a sign of something and something will change in his life.
